Long Term Plan to Blogging for Profit
I have been blogging for a while and have done blogging in both free blogging platform as well as hosted blog. From an IT background, I think I have the grasp of blogging technology from what I have been through with my last blog and have been working hard to try to make money through blogging. However my attempts to make money with my blogs have not been successful so far.
I come to realize that I have the unrealistic expectations of how fast I can grow my readership and how much money I can make if I try hard. I must say that these expectations have not been met and I do have some disappointment with it. At least this hasn’t crushes my desire to continue blogging. The other failing I had has to do with the lack of planning. I do realize that I have rushed into blogging in my last attempt and have not planned out what I want to achieve. Now I know that the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.
The driving force for starting all over again was due to the fact that I make a silly mistake and screw up my last blog. I lost all the contents I posted in the last 5 months. Given that I wasn’t making much money with that blog I might as well start all over again.
While planning on starting all over again, I was digging through the “stack” of eBook in my hard disk and found a special report by Dave Issacs and Aaron Leighton called “Cash Pulling Blog Tactics Revealed”. What differentiate this eBook from the rest of the “How To Make Money with Blog” ebooks is that they provided an action plan for their reader. The action plan serve as a checklist of things you need to do to start blogging for profit. I took that action plan, modify it to suit me and started this new blog. If you need a copy of that ebook, you can get a copy from here.
While reading through the eBooks in my hard disk I also come across an eBook by Alvin Phang titled “The Blogger Handbook By Alvin Phang”. I must admit that after reading through his eBook I am more convinced that I have to start all over again. What motivates me is not the content rather than the fact that Alvin took action and made it at such a young age. Considering that I am much older than Alvin so I must work even harder make this new blog a success. After reading Alvin’s eBook and making the assessment on how things are moving, I decided that staying with my unplanned venture will not make it. To find out more about Alvin’s online success, you can have a look at his Atomic Blogging step-by-step tutorial guide.
My blogging experience and my reading of other successful blogs told me that to succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that I need is a large readership. Without the traffic, there is very little chance to make even a small amount of money online. Even though I have tries to be as unique as possible in my contents but I know I am not getting much attention. So I need to be able to market my blog more effectively.
I realized I have been spending all my time writing posts and almost little or no time marketing my blog. I have been trying to update as often as I can to keep my blog high in blog search engines. However it does not matter how often I update my blog and if nobody is ready my page, then my efforts will be wasted.
To make my dreams of blogging for profit a reality, I will spend more time from now on to draw new visitors to my site. I will start to make contacts in the blog community, following other established modes of winning traffic.
I know that even with really great idea for my blog, success is not going to happen overnight. Building a loyal readership to make blogging for profit will take times, and in all likelihood it will be at least several months before I will be able to turn much of a profit.
I will stay committed to my blogging journey. To stay motivated I am now setting goals for how often I will update and how many readers I want to attract, and then reward myself for sticking with my plan.
I am looking forward to your comment on my new beginning.
